CBA players shining at the PG Sunshine West

San Diego, CA - The 11th annual Sunshine West Showcase was held in San Diego, California on June 8-9. This highlight event, one of four “Sunshine” events held across the country in early June to kick off the summer baseball season, featured over 150 top players from California and the Southwest. In addition to being the first opportunity for many top young prospects to be evaluated by Perfect Game scouts, the Sunshine series is also the last opportunity for players to earn an invitation to the prestigious Perfect Game National and Junior National Showcases in mid-June.

Here's a look at key CBA players who participated in the 2013 Sunshine West event:

Jared Donahoe (CBA Bulldogs 2013 - Mission Viejo, CA) - showed some arm strength up to 81 MPH with solid defensive actions.

Luke Hussung (CBA Bulldogs 2014 - Studio City, CA) - showed athletic actions in the outfield with arm strength up to 85 MPH.

Niko Navarro (CBA Marucci 2015 - Rancho Cucamonga, CA) - showed good actions on the infield with good athleticism. He also showed arm strength up to 81 MPH.

Josh Stephen (CBA Marucci 2016 - Chino Hills, CA) - showed projectable young outfield actions with a loose arm action. Athletic outfielder.

Jake Ortega (CBA Marucci 2015 - Mission Viejo, CA) - showed good catch and throw tools with a pop time of 1.93 and velocity up to 76 MPH. He also showed solid infield actions with arm strength up to 83 MPH.

Louis Tade (CBA Marucci 2015 - Murrieta, CA) - showed arm strength up to 85 MPH with carry on his throws. He also showed solid actions with solid footwork.
