CBA PUMAS TAKE ARIZONA
It was a weekend the CBA Pumas will never forget! They packed up the cars on Thursday afternoon and headed to Arizona for the 2015 Dual Super Spring NIT (National Invitational Tournament) with their 8u, 9u Navy, 9u Red, 11u and 12u teams. Each team played well and fought hard as they made it to their respective playoffs. 9u Navy made it to the Championship game in the Silver Bracket, they fought hard and in the end earned 2nd place and brought home silver rings! This was a major accomplishment for a team that has only been playing together for a short 6 months and were attending their first national travel tournament against very tough competition.
The highlight of the weekend was the 9u Red CBA Pumas Championship game in the Gold Bracket. They played a flawless game winning 10-0 against a very good Chino Hills Dirt Dawgs team. The game was well played with the Pumas defense turning two double plays and an absolutely astonishing 4-6-3-2 Triple Play in the 1st inning that secured the momentum from that point forward. The boys played well all weekend and brought the gold rings back to Las Vegas!!!
Congratulations to Jay Matos, the entire Pumas coaching staff, parents and Puma families.
